Juve keep tabs on Veloso

Juventus are interested in signing Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso, according to reports in Portugal.

The Bianconeri have apparently sent scouts to watch the 23-year-old on several occasions this season.

Portuguese newspaper Record understands that Juventus director of sport Alessio Secco has also been in touch with Jorge Mendes, the player's agent, with whom he enjoys a good relationship.

Veloso has a minimum fee release clause worth €30m, but he was close to joining Inter and Porto in January for half that figure.

Juventus would have to sell Felipe Melo to facilitate the deal and have been encouraged by interest from Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger who still holds the Brazil international in high regard despite a rough first season in Turin.

The Bianconeri haven't had the best of luck with Portuguese players recently.

Jorge Andrade had his contract rescinded after suffering a career threatening knee injury and Tiago flopped. He is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid.
