Italy’s Under 21 team got back on track at the right moment and thanks to a goal by Luca Marrone. The azzurrini gave an early birthday present to Pierluigi Casiraghi (he turns 41 tomorrow) with a victory against Hungary.
The match in Rieti ended 2-0 with a goal in each half. The opener was scored by Okaka in the first half while the second by the Juventus midfielder was a left-footed stunner from outside the area, a few minutes after coming on the field. This was Marrone’s first goal for the Under 21 squad, another great satisfaction in an already splendid season.
With these three points, Italy now has 10 points and is second followed by Hungary with 9 but with one game in hand. Wales are still the leaders of the group with 13 and with the same number of matches played as the azzurrini.
